Brisbane (stad), Surfers paradise(duur en regen), Byron bay(alternatief en regen) en Sydney!

veeeelste lang geleden dat ik een berichtje heb achtergelaten op mijn blog, I know.

Ik ben die vrijdag op de bus naar Brisbane gegaan…. daar aangekomen moest ik eerst een uur wachten op mijn transfer bus naar het hostel. Aangekomen in het hostel aan het begin van de middag ben ik 2 Engelse meiden tegen gekomen die ik al eerder had ontmoet in Airlie beach. Met deze meiden heb ik wat gedronken en wat boodschapjes gedaan. Daarna was er een gratis barbeque waarna ik met de engelse meiden een drankspelletje genaamd Kings ben gaan doen met nog wat andere mensen. Daarna zijn we richting de club gegaan. We hadden gratis tickets, normaal betaal je 25 dollar om binnen te komen. Aangekomen bij de club, kwam ik niet binnen omdat ik slippers aan had. Dus ik moest terug naar het hostel. Ik ben met de taxi terug gegaan, heb een paar schoenen aangetrokken en ben met de taxi terug gegaan naar de club. De enige schoenen die ik mee had zijn mijn Nikies, wat niet echt een goede combinatie was met mijn outfit… maar ik had geen keuze. Daar aangekomen kon ik de club gelukkig wel in. Was heel gezellig!

Volgende dag ben ik zelf Brisbane ingegaan om schoenen te kopen. Ik wist dat ik het wel vaker zou meemaken in de grote steden dat je schoenen aan moet hebben… en aangezien ik niet bepaald blij was met de outfit van de avond daarvoor ben ik op schoenenjacht gegaan. Het idee was om simpele, goedkope schoenen te kopen…. het is me niet gelukt! Ik kwam terug bij het hostel met een paar UGG’s, halve laarsjes van schapenwol. Prima schoenen, in Nederland 2 keer zo duur en zeer bruikbaar voor in Nieuw Zeeland en Nederland…. Verder ben ik die zaterdag naar een Artgalerie geweest in Brisbane en gewoon de stad wat doorgewandeld. Aan het einde van de dag begon het flink te regenen.

Ik ben die avond optijd op bed gegaan en ben zondag ochtend op de bus naar Surfersparadise gegaan. Aangekomen in Surfers was het prachtig weer, NOT! Nog wat meer regen… Ik ben naar mijn hostel gegaan, ingecheckt, en gelijk gebeld met een engelse jongen die ik ontmoet had in Brisbane. Hij bleek in hetzelfde hostel te verblijven als ik… dus geregeld dat we opdezelfde kamer verbleven. Die middag met Dan, de Engelse jongen, een beetje door Surfers heen gelopen, wat boodschappen gedaan en het strand bekeken. Golven waren erg groot en gevaarlijk om te surfen,…. Dus terug naar het hostel gegaan, wat eten gemaakt en s’ avonds na een drankspel de club weer ingegaan. Ik ben zo’n 4 dagen in Surfersparadise geweest en ongeveer elke dag was hetzelfde; wakker worden, rond lopen in Surfers, eten, drankspelletje, club. 1 Dag erg mooi weer gehad en dan ook gelijk naar het strand gegaan. Verder een heel lief meisje uit Finland ontmoet waar ik wel veel mee optrok en 2 Duitse jongens. Veel lol gehad in Surfersparadise, maar erg duur daar! Meeste clubs betaal je zo’n 15 dollar entree, dat is zo’n 10 euro…. en ook elke dag, niet alleen in het weekend. Een cola is zo’n 4 euro…. belachelijk! Je ziet ook veel limousines rondrijden daar…. veel rijke stinkers denk ik.

Na Surfers paradise ben ik naar Byron bay gegaan met de bus…… Eerst dag prachtig weer, daarna alleen maar REGEN! Byron bay is een heel ander soort Australie… het is allemaal wat alternatief… je ziet veel mensen met dreadlocks, veeeeeeeeeeel piercings, vooral in de lip haha, en tatoeages en graffiti. Bij aankomst met de Greyhoundbus werd ik, samen met een Engels meisje, opgepikt met een transferbusje….. Met de buschauffeur van het hostel een praatje gemaakt, waaruit ik al kon opmaken dat ik de sfeer van Byron bay wel kon waarderen. Het hostel zag er erg leuk uit, ook weer alternatief, een soort uitstraling van, No worry’s mate! Heerlijk! Ingecheckt en daarna met het Engelse meisje, Rachelle, naar het strand gegaan. Terug van het strand langs de Woolworths gegaan, de supermarket… en wie kwam ik daar buiten tegen, Dan! Dus even met hem een praatje gemaakt. Hij was aan het wachten op zijn bus richting Sydney…. hij doet eigenlijk hetzelfde traject als ik, maar dan iets sneller.

Over het algemeen in Byron bay weinig gedaan, helaas vanwege het weer…. want na die ene dag mooi weer bij aankomst, heb ik alleen maar regen gehad… en dan ook werkelijk non stop…. als je naar de supermarkt moest hoefde je niet ‘ de bui af te wachten’…. dat had geen nut. Ik ben veel met het Engelse meisje opgetrokken…. samen geregeld naar de bioscoop geweest…. het hostel lag zo’n 5 minuutjes met de transferbus van het centrum, daarom heeft het hostel een eigen pub/club en een bioscoop. We betaalden 5 dollar voor een film, en er draaiden populaire films… dus prima. Oh, en het waren geen gewone stoelen waar je op zat, het waren grote, lage banken met kussens…. lovely! Dus ik ben zo’n 4 keer naar de film geweest in 5 dagen, helaas vanwege het weer….. en daarbij dus ook veel chocolade gegeten… want bij een film hoort….. 🙂

Alleen op de zaterdag ben ik wat gaan doen. Ik ben met Rachelle de Nimbin tour gaan doen. Nimbin wordt hier ook wel klein Amsterdam genoemd….. er wordt veel drugs verkocht, nog steeds illegaal…. maar veel handel in wiet…. en niet gewoon wiet, maar ook wiet verwerkt in koekjes of chocolade, etc…. wat was dat een ervaring die tour! Om 10 uur opgepikt van het hostel met een busje, zeer kleurijk busje… vervolgens met de hele groep naar een pub… drankjes inslaan voor onderweg…. daarna in Nimbin aangekomen had je 2 uur de tijd om rond te lopen. Meer dan genoeg wat Nimbin is welgeteld 1 straat(je). Dus beetje rondgekeken, een beetje wiet gekocht, wat koekjes en chocolade en daarna terug naar de bus gegaan. In de bus het eerst koekje uitgeprobeerd, samen met Rachelle, ieder een half…. na zo’n 2 uur voelde ik me lichtjes high….. maar niet veel bijzonders…. vervolgens  gingen we met de bus naar een waterval….. niet veel bijzonders…. daarna met ze allen een barbeque….. dat was wel heel gezellig….. Al met al een top dag gehad…. tussendoor de chocolade uitgeprobeerd…. en de wiet….. nou de chocolade was wel aardig sterk…. de wiet bleek achteraf gewoon gras te zijn hahahahaha!

Byron bay zou ik verlaten op de dinsdag avond…. maar ik had het zo gehad met die regen…. ik heb mijn bus 1 dag vervroegd…..

Ik ben maandag 11 oktober op de bus naar Sydney gegaan…. Dinsdag ochtend aangekomen in Sydney een Ierse jongen ontmoet, Rob…. met hem savonds naar een poolmatch gegaan in Sydney…. nog wat meer mensen van het hostel meegevraagd en het groepje was gevormd! Ik ben nu 2 weken in Sydney en heb het ontzettend naar mijn zin…. maar dat is vooral door de mensen die ik hier ontmoet heb…. ik heb nog een Nederlandse jongen ontmoet die samen reist met 2 Duitse jongens….. een meisje op mijn kamer die uit Adelaide Zuid Australie komt en nog een Engelse jongen uit Londen. Verder nog veeeel meer mensen ontmoet maar dat is een beetje het groepje geweest vanaf het begin….. Ik heb hier verschillende dingen gezien en gedaan….. de Harbourbridge, Operahouse…. Aquarium, Wildlife centrum, Oceanworld in Manly (stukje met de ferry om daar te komen), en Bondibeach…. een populair strand…. weet alleen nog niet wat het zo populair maakt… het is niet heel groot… het uitzicht is alleen wel tof…

Verder trek ik veel op met de Engelse jongen, Alex…. vanaf het begin wat met elkaar geflirt… alleen zag ik nog niet in dat ik hem wel leuk vond… totdat hij met een ander meisje in de club stond te praten en ik wat jaloerse gevoelens kreeg, whaha! Dus mijn charmes in de strijd gegooit en sindsdien doen we alles samen….. Ik heb een leuke tijd met hem…. jammer dat ik morgenavond vertrek richting Melbourne… wat dat betreft dan….

Erg veel lol met de Ierse jongen Rob….. hij is briljant grappig… vooral na een paar borrels, maar dat is ongeveer 24/7. Hier in het hostel hangt een prima sfeer…. mede doordat de keuken 24 uur per dag open is….. daardoor is dat de verzamel plek voor iedereen in het hostel geworden. Vaak na het uitgaan zoeken we elkaar daar op en doen we nog wat borreltjes….. meestal ben ik wel de eerste die naar bed gaat…… de rest is dan al zo dronken…. ik heb veel lol te zien wat er dan allemaal voor raars gebeurt….. maar ik verlang dan toch ook wel naar mijn bedje.

Vanavond, zondag, een rustig avondje met Alex…. internet kaartje besteld dus gaan lekker filmpje kijken op de laptop…. en waarschijnlijk 1 borreltje in de keuken doen. Morgen hopelijk de botanische tuinen nog bekijken, de harbourbridge overlopen en ik heb nog een kaartje voor de Sydneytower…. een toren waar je een heel mooi uitzicht over Sydney hebt…. dus ik hoop op mooi weer! En dan morgen avond op de bus naar Melbourne waar ik ook weer een aantal mensen ga opzoeken die ik gedurende mijn trip ontmoet heb….

Verder kijk ik inmiddels erg uit naar Nieuw Zeeland! Veel leuke verhalen gehoord…. en foto’s gezien, echt anders dan Australia! Ben benieuwd!

Sorry dat ik zo’n tijd niks van mij heb laten horen….. ik heb het gewoon erg naar mijn zin en ga mij niet vast leggen aan het onderhouden van mijn blog…. zoals jullie allemaal wel begrijpen! Ik probeer het wel, en doe dit niet alleen voor familie en vrienden, ook voor mijzelf voor als ik terug ben….. maar heb het gewoon de laatste weken even te leuk gehad! 🙂

    We begrijpen best dat je niet iedere keer zulke verhalen kunt schrijven hoor; geniet er maar lekker van, als je terug bent kan je alles nog volop vertellen. Dat je je vermaakt is toch prima:-).
    Jammer dat het slecht weer was in Byron bay en dat je net echt hebt kunnen genieten van het surfen etc. maar ik lees wel dat je je toch wel vermaakt met iedereen. Leuk dat je zo makkelijk contacten legt en dat iedereen daar zo gemakkelijk mee omgaat. Je leert wel onzettend veel culturen kennen zo. In Sydney heb je ook al heel wat gedaan lees ik. Ik vond Manly ook zo’n gezellig strandje hebben en ook ik ben bij Oceanworld geweest, maar dat is wel dertig jaar geleden, toen was het nog kleinschalig. De ferry vond ik helemaal geweldig van Manly naar de City. Jammer dat Bondi tegenviel. Momenteel komt hier iedere avond Bondi Rescue op de televisie met mooi beelden en veel gezelligheid, maar dat is aan het begin van het jaar opgenomen. Nu, als je dit leest ben je waarschijnlijk al in Melbourne. Geniet er maar van voordat je de oversteek gaat doen.
    Hier is het herfstvakantie en oma is te logeren (Tante Friedel en Anne Fleur zijn naar Edingborough, vandaar). We gaan straks naar een groot winkelcentrum bij Oberhausen (Duitsland) waar oma graag naar toe wil, maar voorlopig slaapt iedereen hier nog. Ik zal eens een ontbijtje gaan maken voor iedereen.
